This video shows feeding by cup, spoon, feeding tube and, if needed, bottle. Ideally, babies get all their nutrition from breastfeeding for the first six months. For some new mothers, breastfeeding may not be possible or not exclusively, for a while. These alternative methods of feeding are sometimes needed. Mothers own milk is the priority milk to give, and next is pasteurized donor milk.
This is one of six videos in a series for new parents - check out the others by searching this website using "Healthy Families BC."
